With some of the freshest acts around set to play our latest Deep Cuts instalment, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald has the scoop ahead of May’s big night.

Getintothis’ fourth instalment of its popular Deep Cuts events will take place at the Buyers Club on 4 May.

Continuing to champion some of the nation’s brightest new talents, the latest edition of Deep Cuts boasts Mary Miller, Oya Paya, Chemistry Lane, Tiger Tribe and Mark Lawless, while Dig Vinyl will be manning the decks for the night.

As with our previous events, the forthcoming Deep Cuts will feature artists that we have sung the praises of for some time now within these pages here at Getintothis.

Having first come under our watchful eye nearly a year ago, adopted Scouser Mary Miller has blossomed into one of the most promising talents around these parts, with her finely woven cuts creating vast soundscapes of menacing dream pop intertwining with layers of trip-hop goodness. Having played with the likes of Lets Eat Grandma and Laurel of late, she will be primed to take this year’s Focus Wales festival by storm before heading home to play Sound City next month.

The ever unpredictable, self coined “Spicy” sounds of indie rock trio Oya Paya were rightly one of the highlights from our Liverpool Music Week closing party at the Northern Docks last year, when the trio helped to kick off this year’s GIT Award proceedings in style. Their latest number, Trip Advisor, sees them continue their rich vein of form following their recent rave reviews at Ditto Music Live and Threshold Festival respectively and we predict a mucho spicy sensation from their set next month too.

Our third act will be familiar to long time readers of Getintothis, with the electronic magnificence of Chester quintet Chemistry Lane set to play next month’s night. Having first come to our attention some three years ago, they look set to finally release their much anticipated debut album this year. Awash with magnetised hooks and piercing riffs that cut through you like shards of audio glass, they are able to make the smallest of spaces seem gigantic with ease.

With the trio busy beavering away in 3rd Planet Recordings of late, Blackpool fuzz rock trio Tiger Tribe will be hoping to show why so many fell in love with the group following their legendary set at the final Kazimier outing for FestEVOL as they ready the release of their new EP. Expect core shattering bass and frenzied shapes a plenty when they take to the stage at Buyers Club next month.

DJ Jazzy Jeff talks Will Smith, Liverpool Disco Fest and more

The penultimate act for May’s edition of Deep Cuts is at the forefront of Liverpool’s ever blooming dance scene, with Irishman Mark Lawless set to bring his ambient techno splendor to next month’s proceedings. His recent appearance with VEYU at their wondrous I/O event was spellbinding to say the least and we cant wait to see what he has under his sleeves this time around.

Finally, the fourth installment of Deep Cuts will see Dig Vinyl take up DJ duties for the evening, with the vinyl kings now very much an integral part of Liverpool’s music scene. Having made their home on Bold Street some three years ago, this year saw them embark on creating their own record label, with their second release due anytime soon. With a wealth of delights to chose from, we are sure they will get heads turning at next month’s event.
