XamVolo will play Arts Club, Baltic Triangle bar launches film night and a new video from HAARM, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with plenty to feast your mince pies on.

Ahead of the release of his debut album, XamVolo will play a headline show in his adopted hometown at Arts Club.

Born and raised in London, XamVolo moved to Liverpool to hone his craft and since then has produced some of the best new soul music in the city.

Signing to Decca Records in 2016, twice GIT Award nominated, he’s set to release All The Sweetness on The Surface next year, before playing in Liverpool on Thursday, February 7.

Co-produced by Xam alongside heavyweight producers Paul Phamous and A.V (Frank Ocean), his latest single Sins of the Soldier builds on the foundations of the 23-year-old’s EP’s Chirality and A Damn Fine Spectacle.

His debut album All The Sweetness on The Surface released early 2019.

Lo Five

Following on from the success of previous years’ charity compilation albums, Emotion Wave have announced the release of Mates – a compilation of music from electronic artists from Merseyside and further afield.

The album sees musicians work together collaboratively to produce the album, and proceeds made from Mates will go to Tom Harrison House, a specialist facility based in Anfield which provides a 12 week addiction recovery programme exclusively to military veterans, reservists, emergency personnel, and their families.

The album features artists: Twin Galaxies, Runningonair, Foxen Cyn, The Long Rays, Steve Amadeo, Lo Five, Baron Farg, Dark Fidelity Hifi, Nika Moroz, Bemp, Kieran Mahon, Dublock and Guy Nolan.

Red Rum Club

Red Rum Club will launch their debut album, Matador, with a fiesta at Jacaranda Records: Phase One on Friday, January 9.

The news follows the recent unveiling of the band’s striking new single Would You Rather Be Lonely?, from the upcoming album, released on Modern Sky UK.

They recently played a headline show at O2 Academy, and will be playing their new album on its night of release in full, as well as doing some in store signings on the night.

SOAK will play in Liverpool next year as part of a UK and Europe tour.

The singer songwriter from Derry was just 14 when she released her first track, Sea Creatures. She released Before We Got How To Dream, her debut album, in 2015.

The album went on to make SOAK one of the Mercury Prize‘s youngest nominees.

Now in Manchester, she has launched her latest single Everybody Loves You, SOAK will play District on Friday, May 3.

Punters at HOBO Kiosk Pub

Baltic Triangle bar Hobo Kiosk will host a monthly film night, which started on Tuesday (December 18).

The bar, laden with quirks and bohemia, was opened by Tristan and Delia Brady-Jacobs, who described it as Narnia as a pub.

“Its a place where questions and curiosity are expected and encouraged,” Tristan says. “Where you will always get an honest answer and where you and your ideas and opinions are a vital part of the machinery of this ‘clockwork of cool’.”

Liverpool trio HAARM have unveiled a stylish and cerebral new video for current single, Better Friend.

Reverberating with pure emotion and pulsating electronics, the track finds the band reflecting on the loss of one of their closest friends.

Better Friend is now matched with a slick new video from the mind of acclaimed LA-based Director Daniel Fitzsimmons.
