Bond’s famous Walther:

James Bond originally wielded a Beretta 418 until a small arms expert (and fan of the novels) told Ian Fleming that it was a lady’s gun, as its size made it underpowered for real combat. Fleming then wrote a scene in Dr. No to give Bond his now famous Walther PPK.

First Editions:

Ahead of Casino Royale, demand soared for first-edition copies of Fleming’s 1953 book, with one copy selling for £50,000 back in 2013. All first editions should say’Jonathan Cape’ on the title page and are worth even more if they have their original dust jacket. With over 100,000,000 copies sold worldwide, it’s not surprising that the Bond film series is one of the most successful of all time.
