Omni to play Shipping Forecast, We Are Scientists at Arts Club and Average Sex head up District gig



Baltic Roastery opens in Baltic Triangle, two new Emotion Wave events and a new track out of LIPA, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley reporting during a week bursting with news.

Omni will play Shipping Forecast as part of a UK tour.

They played last year’s Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia where music explorers witnessed an intriguing set following the release of their second album Multi-Task.

The Atlanta post punk trio will come to Liverpool on Thursday, August 16.

We Are Scientists will play Arts Club as part of a UK tour this autumn.

It follows the release of their latest album, Megaplex, which was released in April.

The New York duo of Keith Murray and Chris Cain hit Liverpool on October 20.

Average Sex packed out Constellations last month at Sound City and they’re coming back to town in a few weeks’ time.

The O Genesis Recordings band played in Northwich as part of The Charlatans ten day takeover of their hometown last month.

They’ll be supported by Fuss and Lemonade Fix on July 20.

Baltic Creative CIC have announced a new partnership with 92 Degrees Coffee to deliver a brand new cafe space in the heart of the Baltic Triangle.

This new cafe venture, The Baltic Roastery, will take over the cafe space recently vacated by Unit 51 on Jamaica Street.

Phase one of the 92 Degrees project will begin on June 11 where a pop up shop will be in place. 92 Degrees anticipate the opening date of The Baltic Roastery to be late July.

After a brief hiatus, Emotion Wave will present episode 13 next month as well as a Bank Holiday bonanza.

White MaskDublock and Baron Farg will be at 81 Renshaw on July 28.

With help from Wirral New Music CollectiveEmotion Wave are also unleashing a day of live music and more in an The Treasury Annexe, on the corner of Hamilton Square in Birkenhead.

There will be two performance spaces, one in the basement car park, the other outdoors, and TVAM, S»D, Reedale Rise, Isocore, Field LinesCartographer, Melodien, Lo Five, Bye Louis and more will perform.

Ady Suleiman will be at Arts Club Theatre on October 22.

The LIPA graduate will play in support of his debut album, Memories.

London post punk band Warmduscher visit Buyers Club on October 16 as the band will tour new album, Whale City.

Cult 1980s Liverpool band Candy Opera are reuniting to play their first live show in over 25 years.

Following the release of retrospective album 45 Revolutions Per Minute they reform at Studio 2 on August 18 with support from Edgar Jones and Mel Bowen.

Finally, Brit pop heroes The Bluetones make a welcome return to Arts Club on September 29.

Our track this week comes from Skinner’s Lane. The Liverpool based band hail from California, Bournemouth and Cheshire, the three met whilst studying at LIPA.

Their new track, To My Face is an easy listening, rough around the edges introduction. It’s complete with a bass driven chorus amongst jangling indie verses. They’re headlining Maguire’s Pizza Bar on June 30.
