The Sundowners

The Sundowners reveal the first fruits of their second album ahead of their support slot with The Coral this weekend, Getintothis’ Peter Guy is swallowed up whole among their organ drones.

The Sundowners have dropped the first track from their second album ahead of their Olympia date with The Coral on Saturday, December 10.

After a year of relentless touring and recording, The Wirral rock & rollers have rounded off 2016 with new song Great Beauty, their first from the as-yet-unnamed second album due via Skeleton Key Records.

Recalling the billowing rock fusion of Black Mountain, Great Beauty is underpinned with Niamh Rowe and Fiona Skelly‘s trademark dual harmonies alongside a squalling organ drone.

Recorded at Parr Street Studios by Rich Turvey – and under the watchful eye of The Coral‘s James Skelly – the track will whet the appetite for album number two, of which, several tracks may well be showcased during The Sundowners‘ show at The Olympia this weekend.
