Liverpool International Music Festival has announced the full details for its special event 76-16: From Eric’s To Evol as the festival looks back at 40 years of punk.
Manchester punk godfathers Buzzcocks, Liverpool art punks Clinic, Will Sergeant‘s psychedelic side project Poltergeist and Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies join Feral Love, Lying Bastards, Veyu, Organ Freeman and Queen Zee & The Sasstones at the first event taking place at Arts Club on Saturday July 23, while The Magnet plays host to the after show featuring DJ sets from Evol‘s DJ Revo, Jules Bennet, Chris W, Norman Killon, Marc Jones and Bernie Connor.
The second event finds LIMF 2014 headliners The Lightning Seeds, new wave heroes Pete Wylie & The Mighty Wah!, The Clang Group and Sugarmen hitting the O2 Academy as they celebrate the local Liverpool scene for 76-16: From Eric’s To Evol on Sunday July 24.
Finally, District will hold The Story of Punk and Counterculture Panel which will see John Robb, Paul Du Noyer, Pete Wylie, Pauline Murray, Craig Pennington and Jayne Casey addressing the important issues and questions surrounding the punk movement on Wednesday July 20.
With the punk scene continuing to bear fruit, this will prove a popular addition to an already stellar lineup for this years festival.
- 76-16: From Eric’s To Evol will take place at Arts Club, The Magnet & O2 Academy from Saturday July 23 to Sunday July 24.
